Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake - latest financial accomplishments

The Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake, www.RotaryCCL.org chose to review the past six months as their meeting agenda when they met for the first time for 2019 at Vetoni’s Italian Restaurant Jan. 4.
Treasurer Mike Groom presented financial reports and explained for newer members the accounts the club has and how they work. The Foundation Account is the club account which houses all charitable donations and proceeds from fundraisers, from which distributions to the various charities and projects are made, Groom explained.
From that account, distributions total approximately $27,000 for the six months; given back generously to the community they serve with a special emphasis on the area’s children. Some of the highlights include:

2017 Annual Golf Tournament
- A Huge Success!

Posted on Apr 19, 2017
This year's CCL Rotary Foundation Golf Tournament was a huge success and loads of fun! We had 28 teams sign up for what was a perfect weather day for golf. Along with the registered teams we were lucky enough to have former NFL football players who volunteered their time to help raise money. Several of the players were auctioned off as a 5th player to the highest bidding team, with former NFL great Eugene Lockhart performing as the auctioneer! Many thanks to our generous sponsors, volunteers, players, and The Pinnacle Club who hosted the event.

"Klothes for Kids 2016"

The annual Cedar Creek Lake Rotary Club Klothes for Kids event was held on November 1st and 2nd. The event benefits underprivileged children in our local community. 50 students are paired with CCL Rotary members, Rotary Interact students and other volunteers to go shopping at a local retail store for winter necessities such as coats, shoes, socks, pants, shirts, etc.  Both the volunteers and children have lots of fun looking for that "just right" item that brightens the child's day and better prepares them for the upcoming cooler weather.

The 13th Annual Cedar Creek Lake Rotary Foundation Golf Tournament was held April 29, 2016 at Cedar Creek Country Club. Turn out for this event was great in spite of the threat of bad weather with 24 teams coming out to participate.
Many thanks to the sponsors, players, Rotarians, and others involved with this annual event which raised over $13,000! These funds will assist with the many community outreach programs supported by the CCL Rotary Club including Klothes for Kids, scholarships, literacy, food pantries and libraries.

The Eustace Primary School held a book give-away this week. The 400 books given to children ranging in age from Pre-K to second grade are donated by the Cedar Creek Lake Rotary Club. The school holds book give-aways three times a year. The CCL Rotary Club also donates books to the Kemp Elementary and dictionaries to every third grade student in Mabank ISD. Pictured are some of the Pre-K children checking out the books they received.
